Beginner Poker Clinics by Mark "The Red" Harlan

Mark "The Red" Harlan has been playing poker for over 30 years. A consistent winning player, his interest in the last few years has turned to tournament play and he was a net money winner in the 2005 World Series of Poker.

Red's interest in poker goes beyond the felt. He crossed his love for the game with his high-tech career and four years ago co-founded CyberArts Licensing, the software supplier of GamesGrid Poker and MANSION Poker. He was lead author of Wiley's Winning at Internet Poker For Dummies and is putting the finishing touches on Hold'em for Dummies (rumor has it that he has a syndicated column in the works).

An engaging and entertaining speaker, he has, quite literally, won every major high-tech presentation award. He doesn't let his degree in Applied Mathematics get in the way as he teaches straightforward and easy-to-understand poker concepts. He's a big believer in hands-on understanding of the game, his classes emphasize concepts followed by lots of real play.
